Privacy Policy

Last updated October 2, 2026

The Moment is a photo app made by Quinton and Josie Wall. This policy explains what we collect when you use the iPhone app and this website, why, who can see it, and how to delete it. In short: we collect what the app needs to work, we don't sell your data, we don't show ads, and we don't use third-party tracking.

What we collect

  • Your account. When you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive an account ID and your email address (Apple may give us a private relay address instead), and your name if you share it.
  • Your profile. Your username, display name, bio, profile photo, and whether your account is private.
  • Your moments. The photos and short videos you take (including sound on videos), and the captions, pens, magnets and stickers you add to them.
  • Activity. Who you follow and who follows you, likes, comments, the people you tag, and reminders you set.
  • Tokens and purchases. Your token balance and how you spend it, and records of token packs and memberships you buy. Apple handles payment; we never see your card details. We receive Apple's confirmation of the purchase so we can give you what you bought.
  • Notifications. If you turn them on, a push token from Apple so we can tell you when a moment develops, someone tags you or comments, and your notification settings.
  • Time in the app. How long each visit to the app lasts, to understand how the app is used. Nothing about what you looked at is recorded.

We don't collect your location, your contacts, or anything from your photo library. The app only adds to your library when you choose to save a moment, or turn on saving developed moments.

How we use it

To run The Moment: to show your moments as they develop, share them with the people you choose, send the notifications you asked for, keep your tokens and membership right, keep the service secure, and improve the app. We don't sell your personal information or use it for advertising.

Who can see your moments

  • Public account: your profile and moments can be seen by anyone, in the app and on this website, including people who aren't signed in.
  • Private account: your moments can be seen only by followers you approve. Your name, username, profile photo and bio are still visible to everyone, so people can find you.
  • Tags: people you tag in a moment can see it, even if your account is private. You can remove tags, and people can remove themselves.
  • Likes, comments and tags on a moment are visible to anyone who can see the moment. Your membership tier (Power User or Super User) shows on your profile.

Who we share it with

We use a few services to run The Moment. They process data only to provide their service to us:

  • Supabase stores accounts, moments and activity, and runs our servers.
  • Vercel hosts this website.
  • Apple provides Sign in with Apple, push notifications and in-app purchases.
  • Google provides Sign in with Google, if you use it.

We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect people from harm.

Deleting your data

You can delete any of your moments at any time in the app. A deleted moment's likes, comments and tags go with it, and its files are removed from our storage within minutes. You can edit or remove your profile photo, name and bio whenever you like.

To delete your whole account and everything in it, email hello@quinton.me from the address on your account, and we'll do it within 30 days. Copies may stay in our backups for a short time before they're overwritten. You can also ask us for a copy of your data.

Children

The Moment isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you think a child has an account, contact us and we'll delete it.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date above. If a change is significant, we'll tell you in the app.
